Civic Hall Presents: Rebuild Together with Thicket!

What if a group of strangers could come together in a room for two hours and leave as teams with specific goals and an actionable project that can have a positive impact on their communities? What if they could stay connected to easily share progress and exchange resources for continued collaboration and significant impact? What if these teams could grow organically and connect with other communities for long-term resilience?

We created Rebuild Together to rebuild our local communities by empowering citizens to redesign their local community services and infrastructure to better serve their needs. Community members decide what a healthy thriving community means to them and access a wealth of community resources and talents that are not visible on a day-to-day basis. By forming teams and connecting our daily practices to community wellbeing, we can improve our communities, relationships, and unlock the power of our shared knowledge.

Women’s Wealth & Health Equity Summit

Thicket Labs is supporting Allies for Reaching Community Health Equity (ARCHE), an initiative of the Center for Global Policy Solutions, to produce the Women’s Wealth & Health Equity Summit. The summit will be held the afternoon of Tuesday, July 18, 2017 through the late afternoon of Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Gaylord National Resort in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

About Women’s Wealth & Health Equity Summit

The Women’s Wealth & Health Equity Summit will bring together over 150 experts, practitioners, and advocates from around the country to address health and wealth inequities affecting women and families. This event will use an intersectional framework to examine the consequences of these inequities, placing a particular focus on women of color as well as other disadvantaged groups.

Ultimately, the summit seeks to build a shared language, framework, and policy agenda to address women’s pay and wealth inequities through a health equity lens. By raising awareness of the causes and consequences of wealth disparities experienced by women, we hope to expand understanding of the impact of these inequities on the health and wellbeing of children, families and communities.

What to Expect

  • Exciting, interactive panels, discussions, and activities
  • Opportunities to network and build coalitions with diverse leaders and practitioners working to advance equity issues through advocacy, research, community organizing and stakeholder engagement strategies
